An incomplete and warped cast copper-alloy Medieval buckle dating to c.1250-1500. Description: The buckle is D-shaped with an offset strap-bar. It has a D-Shaped cross-section. The upper face of the buckle has incised deecoartion irregularly aligned along its length. The strap bar is warped and missing its pin. It has mid-green patination typical of patinated copper-alloy. Measurements: 21.26mm long, 42.19mm wide, 5.29mm thick (turned up slightly) and 5.44g in weight. Discussion: Similar examples can be found on this database and published in Whitehead (1996, 19).

A cast copper-alloy and iron blackletter mount of probable 18th or 19th century date. Description: The mount takes the form of a decorative shield, with high sweeping engrailed top edge and double concave sides. The upper frace has an incised captial black letter M. The reverse has a high rim around the edge. There are four evenly placed rivet holes on the back which all contain Iron fixing remains. They do not penetrate to the front and maybe screw threaded.
