Description: The object is formed from two sections of vessel rim rivetted together. The rim projects outwards to create a raised collar along the top of the fragments. An irregular sherd of hard fired coarsware of uncertain date. It has a very hard fired surface leaving it pink with spar large angular flint inclusions and black sandy grit speckles moderately throughout. An incomplete cast Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy chafing dish support. Description: The fragment survives as a crescent shaped section of the lower part of a folding chafing dish support/leg. The fragment has broken across its length perhaps at its thinnest point. The terminal is possibly zoomorphic; with an upwards facing beaked bird head, albeit very very abstractly executed. There is a break at the upper end of the foot, this break has a thin sub-rectangular cross-section. The base of the foot is slightly concave. The object is significantly worn and pitted. A heavily worn body sherd of handmade probably late Iron Age vessel, possibly from a cooking jar. Description: The sherd and irregularly shaped in plan. The fabric is well fired and hard has an unoxidised outer surface and core (dark black). The outer surface is ashy suggesting it was a cooking jar. The inclusions are a mix of irregularly sorted small shell temper/sand. The breaks are angular and some striations are visible indicaiting its production via wheel throwing. Measurements: 95.95mm long, 102.43mm high, 8.3mm thic (including rim 6.25mm) and 108.9g in weight.
