A Gold solidus of Valentinian II (AD 375-392) dating the period c.378-383 (Reece Period 20). VICTOR-IA AVGG reverse type depicting Two draped emperors nimbate, seated facing on throne, one on right holding mappa in left hand and the two together holding globe. Behind a victory, below a palm branch. Mint of Milan (Mediolanum), -//COM. As Hoxne no. 16; RIC IX, pp. 77-78, nos. 5e/8(a1). Coin has slight post-depositional folding to one edge.
Measurements: 20.34mm in diameter, 1.27mm thick and 4.47g in weight.
