A cast copper-alloy late medieval or early post-medieval thimble, to the 15th or very early 16th century in date. Description: The thimble is a cast beehive conical shape with a wide plain basal zone. The rest of the thimble is covered by irregularly spaced small hand drilled circular pits in an anti-clockwise direction in running spiral line upwards. The thimble's walls are very thick. The base is even and flat. The thimble has a dark brown patination covered in light green patches of corrosion. Measurements: 22.4mm high, 21mm in diameter and 16.39g in weight.
