An early medieval gold tremissis of uncertain type, probably belonging to the Merovingian 'mint and moneyer'/'national' series dating to the period c.AD580-670.
The 'obverse' shows a potential monogram with the letters AX to the side, and may be influenced by the mongrams seen of, for example, some of the Merovingian royal coins. The 'reverse' may show a devolved Victory, possibly facing.

The coin has a silvery appearance suggesting it belongs later in the series when gold content was declining, the metal often termed 'pale gold' with inceasing silver content. It may date more closely to c.AD640-60.
The named moneyer FRATECLISELO is not listed in de Belfort's 1982-5 catalogue.

Obverse: Bust right wearing a pearled diadem and cuirass indicated by dots, pseudo-legend consisting of a large A and v behind head with an N(?) in front. Between them a cross on a flat base. Reverse: Two half figures, seated on throne, stylized Victory/angel above, wings outstretched, groups of three pellets either side of Victory's head.

A Medieval gold noble of Henry V (1413-1422), class E / F mule (North 1373 / 1374; Spink 1744 / 1746) dating to the period AD1413-1422, mint: London. Ref: North 1991: 69.
The coin is in good condition, with a small crease on one side of the flan.
On the obverse there is a pellet at the sword point, a trefoil by the shield, an annulet on hull and a mullet by sword arm characteristic of Class E; the reverse has a trefoil of pellets in one quarter on the reverse, characteristic of Class F.
