A complete tombac (copper-zinc alloy) buckle of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1690 - 1720. Description: The buckle frame is sub-rectangular with rounded corners and a D-shaped section. The frame is drilled for a separate spindle which holds in place the seperate pin and chape. The Pins is of simple single form and the chape is open and widens towards its outer edge and has one single short ininner spike. It has a dull silve-grey colour, the chape/pin slightly greener.. The remaining frame consists of one D-shaped loop and D-shaped in cross-section. The outer edge of the frame is bevelled and the back is flat.
