A fragment of probable gold ingot of uncertain date. Description: The fragment has a sub-rectangular cross section that has flattened upper and lower faces and convex sides. At each end, the piece has been snipped by metal tools. It also has marks on the upper and lower face has additional snip marks. Ingot shows some evidence of hammering into shape. Measurements: 9.67mm long, 7.3mm wide, 2.38mm thick and 1.33g in weight. Discussion: This ingot fragment is similar, though thinner than SOM-E5EF83 (2019 T226). A fine milled gold touch piece / medal from the reign of Charles II (r.1660-1685AD). Description: Obverse: Ship going left. Legend: 'CAR.II.D.G.M.B.FR.ET.HI.REX'. Reverse: St. George slaying the dragon. Reverse Legend: 'SOLI.DEO.GLORIA.'
