An incomplete and worn debased silver early-medieval silver penny of Aethelred I (865 - 871), Lunettes type (c.865-71; North 622; obverse: Lyons and Mackay group 2 Wessex regular Lunettes variant i, inscription style 1; reverse: Lunettes A), moneyer: Lang. Ref: Lyons and Mackay 2007. About a third of the coin is missing and its green discolouration indicates the low levels of silver in the coin and high copper content. Measurements: 19.52mm in diameter, 1.02mm thick and 0.82g in weight.
