An incomplete heavily worn and double struck silver penny of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), second issue coinage (1561-1582). Minted at London. Mint mark lion dating to the period 1566-1567. North (1991) no. 2001. Coin exhibits evidence of double striking withe repeated letters and long cross terminal on the reverse. Measurements: 15.01mm in diameter, 0.58mm thick and 0.45g in weight.
