An early-medieval silver penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), PACX type dating to the period c.1042-4. with obverse type Pagan C. Minted by Brunwine and Stamford. North (1994. 179) No.814; Pagan (2011, 79) No. 411 and Hild 679. Measurements: 17.5mm in diameter and 1.15g in weight Discussion: This coin seems to be similar to that listed by Pagan (2011, 87) as no.814. The obverse of no.814 is listed as his type Ai, The example here however, with a cruder bust and heavily abbreviated obverse inscription (reading EDER/E REA) fits closer to Pagan's group C.
