An incomplete early-medieval silver penny of Eadwald of East Anglia (c.796-798/800), new type (see below), mint: East Anglia (Ipswich?), moneyer Eadnoth. The coin is badly chipped, cracked and incomplete, missing much of the outer edge as well as two larger, triangular-shaped fragments. The coin is in generally good conidition although a short section of the outer edge is missing and a small fragment of the field is also missing. The coin remains c.95% complete however.
