A clipped and modified later Medieval silver penny dating to the reign of Edward IV (1461-1470), first reign 1461-1470, heavy coinage (1461-1465). Dating to the period c.1462-1465. Mint of Durham, local dies. North (1991) No 1543 or 1544. Coin has had the bust intentionally punched out. Measurements: 17.96mm in diameter (central punch hole 10.21mm in diameter) 0.62mm thick and 0.47g in weight.
