Description: The sherds are all irregular body sherds with clear striations indicating they were part of a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is very hard with some common mica speckling and fine black grit. There is little mica intrusion into the inner fabric. A small sherd of probable Roman wheel thrown ceramic vessel dating. Description: The sherd is a medium sized rregular body sherd with clear striations indicating a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is very hard with substantial mica speckling and with some mica intrusion into the inner fabric. The sherd has very jagged edges and is a dark grey colour indicating a heavily reducing kiln atmosphere, although the outside edge is browner particularly towards the base of the sherd while the upper edge is greyer. A rim sherd probably from a Roman ceramic drinking vessel of Patchgrove Grog-tempered ware. Description: The sherd represents part of the rim of a ceramic vessel with the rim surviving in full in one small place and not enough remains to suggest original diameter. The fabric has a light white brown outer colour and a light grey-blue inner with some brown mottling. A fragment of wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date c. AD 43 - 410, likely a mica dusted greyware cooking vessel dating to the period c. AD 125 - 300. Description: The vessel survives only as a body sherd with some rim at the top lip. The sherd has mixed variably spaced inclusions of small grit and quartz. and sparse specks of mica dusting. The sherd is unoxidised being ad dark grey throughout. The sherd likely relates to a cooking pot. Measurements: 34.05mm wide. 35.18mm high, 9.03mm thick and 12.20g in weight.

A body sherd/fragment of probable wheel thrown Roman Verulamium-region white ware jug, dating to the late 1st to 2nd century AD. Description: The sherd consists of part of a globular body in a light off-white hard, granular fabric with slightly laminar texture. Sparse well-sorted multi-coloured quartz with sparse red iron in a clean matrix. One large flint in the inner surface. A large scar in the top right is likely the attachment point for a now missing handle. Measurements:64.57mm length, 62.26mm high, 67.63mm wide, 13.44mm thick (wals of the body sherd) and 52.53g in weight.

A rim sherd/fragment of probable wheel thrown Roman Hadham ware storage jar. Description: The sherd consists of part of the rim and body in a paler orange-pink hard, fine fabrics with sandy texture and finely irregular fractured edges. The surfaces are burnished and remain smooth where not damaged. It is tempered with abundant fine quartz sand, moderate fine black and red iron ores and some fine mica. The rim form is flanged and indicates a diameter of 15cms Measurements:101.6mm wide, 44.89mm high, 20.59mm thick (including the rim, body 6.24mm thick) and 58.59g in weight.
