Description: The object is circular and flat in plan with a circular tab projecting out of the top side and a piercing at the bottom. Description: The object is cast in one piece and consists of a narrowing tapering handle from a wide convex base forming together a conical shape. A pair of cast silver buckle loops, found in close association with each other, dating to the late 5th -6th centuries. Description: Both buckles are D-shaped with a narrowed offset bar for the tongues, now missing. The faces of each buckle are heavily finished and bevelled, leaving them faceted on their outer edges and smooth on the inner surfaces.
