An incomplete cast middle to late Iron Age brooch, early 4th-2nd century BC. Description: The brooch is incomplete, and the spring and pin are entirely missing. The head comprises a vertically aligned flat sided pierced knop through which the axis bar would have passed. This bow, which is of roughly circular section and tapers towards the foot, where it loops upwards to a break which may, comparing to similar brooches of the type (e.g BH-CAC2F8) formed an openwork catch plate. Description: The thimble a high cast beehive conical shape with a wide plain basal zone with a slight cast rim at the base prior to the indented outer wall of the thimble. Obv.: Facing crowned bust, no jewels. Leg.: '+EDVV[ARDVS R]EX*'. Rev.: Long cross dividing legend with three pellets in each angle, Legend 'CIVI/TAS/*LON/[DON]'. Farthing is poorly struck with poorly formed lettering. A very fine flint 'leaf' arrowhead, dating to the Neolithic c. 4000-2200BC. Description: The arrowhead is roughly pear-shaped with a slightly pointed butt and bifacially worked from a tertiary flake. Retouch is covering, scaled and low angle. The flint is a dark brown colour save along the edges where it lightens and becomes increasingly translucscent towards the edge, there is some light brown cortex still adhering to the butt end. Measurements: 37.48mm long, 14.47mm wide and 2.43mm thick (at thickest point). It weighs 2.21g.
