A complete copper alloy medieval to post medival strap fitting or button. The head of the fitting is biconvex in shape, and each half of the head has eight flat sides. There is a central knop on the top of the head. The stem and loop are integral and extend from the flat back of the head. The stem is rectangular in cross section, and widens slightly towards the loop.The loop is circular and measures 4.1mm in diameter. A complete medieval copper alloy buckle with composite plate. The buckle frame is oval in shape, with the outer edge widening and forming a triangular point in the centre. The outer edges of the frame are bevelled, and the frame is triangular in cross section. The forked spacer is covered by a rectangular copper alloy sheet folded over. This measures 13.1mm by 14.4mm. An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD 43- 410) 'hook and eye' type bracelet, consisting of the eyelet and probably just less than half of the bracelet, ending in an old break. The bracelet retains its curved 'C' shape. The eyelet is rectangular with rounded corners at the terminal end, it is perforated with a sub circular hole for attaching to the now missing hook. Below this is a grooved line, with a raised moulded rectangle creating a collar to the eyelet. An incomplete Roman copper alloy T-shaped brooch with hinge mechanism dating AD c.50-150, missing it's pin and terminal end. The tubular wings span 19.5mm with the bow projecting from the centre. One of the wings may have been broken, and there is white concretion in the end. A complete silver post medieval bodkin dating from the 17th century. The bodkin has been bent in two places at almost 90 degrees, both close to the (sharp) point. In shape it has a rounded terminal end 4.2mm wide and narrows to point, 0.6mm wide. Two copper alloy studs or hob nails, found close together. The heads are conical in shape and c.4mm long, being slightly concave to the underside from where the square-sectioned shank extends. All have smooth, shiny patinas of mid to light green in colour. 1) 8.7mm diameter head, 12.5mm length, 1.03g weight 2) 9.6mm diameter head, 10.2mm length (the shank is curved). 1.06g weight Usually made of iron, hob nails of similar form often date to the Roman or post-medieval period. A Late Medieval/ Early Post-Medieval Venetian silver soldino of Doge Leonardo Loredan (1501-1521). It is worn and has a die axis of 8. On the reverse to the left of the figure there is an 'X' scratched onto the coin. During the 15th and 16th centuries the English economy experienced a serious shortage of English-struck halfpennies. In order to fill this gap people began using foreign coinage such as the soldino, meaning 'little shilling', which entered into English currency through Venetian traders.

The moulded decoration resembles five flower petals. The central pin bar is narrower at 1.9mm and is sub triangular in cross section. The buckle has a brown green patina. The buckle measures 27.3mm in length, 24.8mm in width, and is 2.2mm thick. The buckle weighs 4.11g. The buckle is similar to Whitehead 1996, p.39 nos. 272 and 273, which he dates from c.1450-1550.

The harp consists of a rounded C-shaped end which extends to two prongs, which would have rested in the mouth. There is a groove on the centre of the rounded end where the tongue would have attached. It is lozenge shaped in cross section. The iron of the harp is corroded, and is a dark orangey brown colour. The harp measures 60.8mm in length, 31.6mm in width, and is 7.3mm at maximum thickness. The prongs measure 36.2mm and 20.8mm in length. The harp weighs 19.55g.

One side is decorated with eight equidistant arms radiating from the centre, creating a cartwheel pattern. The token has been damaged and has a fold in the centre. The reverse is probably undecorated. The token is an irregular circular shape with uneven edges. It is a white-grey colour. The token measures 24.4mm in length, 21.7mm in width, 3.1mm in thickness and weighs 7.69g.

A medieval copper alloy buckle plate. The plate consists of a rectangular sheet of metal, folded widthways to attach to the buckle. The fold on the reverse of the plate is approximately half the length of the plate, measuring 12.3mm in length. A central rectangular slot has been cut out on both sides for the attachment. There is iron staining within this slot suggesting the buckle pin was made of iron. At the opposite end on the longer plate there is a rivet hole with the iron rivet still in situ. A medieval to post-medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame, missing its pin. The loops are oval and thin rectangular shaped in cross-section. The frame is angled. On both loops there is a central notch for the missing pin. The pin bar is offset, narrowed and circular in cross section. There is no decoration on the frame. The buckle frame has a green brown patina. The frame measures 26.3mm in length, 21.1mm in width, and weighs 3.45g. Part of a post-medieval (1500-1700) lead-alloy seal cloth consisting of disc one. Part of the squashed rivet remains on the reverse of disc one, and a small part of the connecting strip on one edge. The seal disc is circular, and the edges have been bent out of shape, though the disc is complete. Disc two is missing. The seal depicts a swan standing left (from the viewer's perspective) in low relief, with the letters MES on the left and *V on the right. An irregularly-shaped and probably incomplete lead vessel mend or 'pot-mend' of uncertain date (but probably AD 43 - 1800). The object consists of two halves (one of which is smaller than the other) joined at the centre. A thin piece of oxidised probably earthenware ceramic is visible between the halves, being orangey brown from the firing process. The object measures 39.1mm by 31.8mm, and is 17.9mm thick. It weighs 71.18g.

An incomplete copper-alloy medieval buckle with trapezoidal frame and integral plate. The frame has been folded over itself. The two outer corners of the frame have a rounded knop. The frame is oval in cross section and is 2.2mm thick. The frame is 18.9mm at the longer end. The plate is sub triangular in shape, at the frame end there is a circular hole which has abraded through at the frame in an old break. This would have originally held the pin, which is now missing. A complete pair of copper-alloy tweezers possibly Roman in date, however a medieval date cannot be ruled out. The tweezers are made from a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded over on itself at a defined loop to form a sprung end. The arms of the tweezers flare out gradually along the length (3.5mm at the loop end, 5mm at the tip); these have been bent out of alignment. The tweezers are rectangular in cross section. A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy nail cleaner, consisting of the lower part of the cleaner. The remaining fragment is flat and rectangular. The break is recent. The cleaner terminates with two prongs; the central perforation is triangular in shape. There are horizontal lines running across the width on both sides of the nail cleaner, immediately below the break, this is probably remains of decoration. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman bow brooch dating from the 1st to the early 2nd century AD. The fragment consists of the catch plate, lower bow and foot. The catch plate is sub-triangular in shape and has an openwork frame. The foot consists of a knop protruding from the base of the bow. The bow is thin and oval shaped in cross-section. It is undecorated and has a light green patina. The fragment measures 25.8mm in length and 12.7mm in maximum width. The bow of the brooch measures 1.9mm by 3.8mm in cross section. The fragment weighs 1.89g.
