An incomplete post-medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy dress hook with a scallop-shaped plate. The attachment loop on the top of the dress hook is incomplete. The hook has been flattened out and is slightly bent to one side. The dress hook is flat to the underside with moulded and grooved decoration to the upper face, with three diagonal ribs either side of where the pin extends and just above a transverse collar. The dress hook measures 26.5mm in length, 12.4mm in max.width, 1.2mm in thickness and weighs 0.89g.

A fragment of a Roman (AD 50-150) T-shaped (initial) brooch. It consists of the upper bow, wings, part of the head loop and roughly half of the pin only. The head has tubular wings (17.2mm wide) with a transverse incised line at either end. To the reverse is a notch for the pin, which is hinged on the still present copper alloy axis bar. The head of the pin is triangular in shape and the shank circular in cross-section (1.4mm diameter). The bow is 8.4mm wide and projects forwards at an angle before dropping vertically into the bow. An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval (1500-1700) buckle plate, consisting of the plate and incomplete arms only. The plate is sheet copper-alloy and triangular in shape with a central piercing (1.8mm diameter) for the missing pin. The two projecting arms extend from one edge and would have originally curled around the bar of the (missing) buckle frame and probably extended into a missing backplate. An incomplete post-medieval (1550-1650) copper alloy double-oval buckle frame, missing one of its loops. Iron staining on the strap bar suggests that the pin, which is now missing, was made of iron. The bar extends beyond the edges of the frame in pointed lobes. All original patina is missing but traces of diagonal grooves are apparent on the outside edge of the frame. It measures 26.5x19.2x1.9mm and weighs 3.79g.

A fragment of a medieval silver ear scoop, part of a toilet implement that often combines with a toothpick at the other end. This example consists of the bowl and base of the stem only. The bowl is tear-drop shaped and 'C' shaped in cross section.The stem has beeen broken off close to the bowl of the ear scoop. It appears to be twisting in cross section at the break which suggests that the stem was probably twisted.

An apparently complete copper alloy middle/ late Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) strap-end with a straight rather than curved short end. The strap-end is solid with a stepped attachment end and a thin plate of a different copper alloy attached to the stepped area with two rivets. It is rectangular in shape. The strap end is decorated with a symmetrical, rather geometric design and Robert Webley suggests it is a Class E, Type 5 (Carolingian) (pers.comm. May 2015). An incomplete Roman (AD 100-200) copper alloy zoomorphic (hippocamphs) plate brooch of Mackreth 2011,Chapter 7, Part 3, OBJECT, Type 7.2. With enamel decoration. As the tail-end of the animal is missing it is difficult to determine if it is a hippocampus (half-horse, half-fish) rather than a horse, but the presence of tiny and apparently complete fins below the front portion of the body suggest it might be part-fish.
