This ring was originally believed by the finder to be a Bronze Age pennanular ring made of gold. It has been confirmed, however, that the object is made from copper alloy. The object is similar in shape to other known penannular rings, some of which are made of a base metal core with a gold covering. It is possible that this item once had a gold covering, which has worn away, leaving only the copper alloy core. The surface is heavily pitted. The ring is circular in section.
