Roman copper alloy brooch fragment? The object is circular in form and rectangular in section it has jagged edges and its upper surface has two concentric raised circles with a raised dot in the centre. The reverse is plain. To one side there is a curved protrusion which is more prominent when veiwed from the reverse. This suggests it may be part of a Roman composite plate brooch, for an example see Hattatt, R.
