A cast copper alloy front piece from an incomplete two-piece dagger scabbard chape of late Medieval to Post Medieval (1400-1600 AD) date. It has a plain, concave back and a moulded front and sides. The backplate is missing. The lower part is shaped like a scallop shell with radiating incised lines. At the base of the curve is a projecting biconical knop with a rounded front and flat back. Above the scallop shape the scabbard narrows and opens out to form a keyhole shape. A medieval copper alloy key for a small lock, probably on a casket dating to the period c. AD 1100 - 1500. The key has an oval bow formed of a loop which thickens on both sides towards the shank. The shank has a broadly oval cross section with flattened sides, and a simple rectangular ward.
