A silver Roman Republican denarius of moneyer M. Papirius Carbo, dating to c.122 BC (Reece period 1). M.CA[RBO], in exergue [ROMA], reverse type depicting Jupiter in a quadriga right holding reins and sceptre in left hand, hurling a thunderbolt with right. Mint of Rome. As RRC, p. 295, no. 276/1.
The coin is 18.17mm in diameter and 1.75mm thick. It weighs 3.8gm.

A hammered silver penny struck for Edward III dating c. 1356-1361. Fourth coinage issue, pre-treaty series G, initial cross 3, mint of London. The reverse has a single annulet in the centre of the usual three pellets in one angle on the reverse. C.f North (vol. II) no. 1206.
