Post Medieval silver shilling of Elizabeth I dating to AD 1587 to 1590. Escallop initial mark on the obverse, crescent stamped over escallop on the reverse. North (1991: 136) no.2014.
It is interesting to see the initial mark overstamped on the die, this is not uncommon for dates on those denominations that have them, but it seems rarer with initial marks.
