Post Medieval copper alloy finger ring with posy inscription on the inner side. The ring has a D-shaped section and is formed of a strip soldered together at the ends. The join is visible and the white metal solder now projects, probably as the surface it used to abut has corroded away. The inscription is worn but reads 'I loue V til death' (I love you until death) in italic script. There are no traces of gilding visible but the exterior surface in patricular is very corroded. The hoop is distorted to an oval shape, 26.0mm by 14.8mm, 4.2mm wide and 1.7mm thick. It weighs 2.39 grams.…
