A fine to medium grained sandstone pebble which appears to have been used as a whetstone, but also has areas of pecking. It is an unusual shape for a whetstone and was possibly originally intended to be a polished stone implement such as a battle axe, but was left unfinished and then reused. A cast copper alloy T-shaped Roman brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch measures 48mm in length and weighs 6.48g. The cylindrical wings measure 24.1mm in length and 4.4mm in diameter. They conceal the copper alloy axis bar for the missing hinged pin. The axis bar is visible within the central notch which would have accommodated the pin. The wings are decorated with two parallel vertical incised lines on the external face of each end and two parallel slightly diagonal lines which frame the bow. A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch measures 34.3mm and weighs 7.29g. The measurement across the cylindrical wings is 21.9mm and they have a maximum diameter of 4.5mm. They conceal the iron axis bar for a hinged pin, which is missing, although there is some iron corrosion within the central slot for the pin. A small cast copper alloy trumpet brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch measures 28.8mm and weighs 3.97g. The oval head conceals the axis bar for a hinged pin which is missing. The stub of a head stub has been preserved above the axis bar. The bow projects forward and narrows into a simple acanthus knop. Below this the brooch narrows more slowly into the forward projecting foot, which is deorated with vertical parallel incised lines.
