Large and fresh sherd of a medieval Grimston ware pottery jug, body and lower end of a strap handle with external lead glaze and parts of three applied strips with iron-rich slip and transverse notches, reduced with oxidised inner margin and pale brown interior. Where glaze is absent the exterior is oxidised. Width and thickness of handle 41 and 11mm, weight 113g. 13th - 14th century.

Incomplete and worn late early-medieval copper alloy disc brooch with cast Borre-style decoration, comprising a concave-sided figure with each of the four corners extended to form interlaced, double-strand knots. On the reverse are stumps of the pin fittings, the pin lug, with rust from the iron pin, set parallel to the edge and the catchplate at a right angle to it (an Anglo-Scandinavian arrangement). Diameter 28mm. Thickness (excluding pin fixings) 1.2mm. Weight 3.43g. 10th century. Kershaw 2013, 56 - 65, East Anglian Series Type I.

Medieval gilt copper alloy harness fitting, a hook-plate from a clasp with a pair of integral sub-circular-sectioned rivets on the reverse. The whole is sub-triangular in cross-section, and there is a sharp transverse rib at the junction of hook and bar. Similar to Read 2008, nos. 807 (IOW-7184A4) and 808, and closest to the former. Length 40.2mm. Width 7.8mm. Thickness 4.2mm (including rivets 10mm). Mid 12th - 13th century.
