Medieval copper alloy two-piece strap end with two rivets. The cast front terminates in an elaborate animal head and the remainder is slightly convex. Slight double cusp at attachment end. Above the zoomorphic terminal the rear is recessed to accommodate a strap, secured by a sheet back. Length 37mm. Width 12.5mm. Thickness at animal head 5.5mm. Of the same general type as Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 614. Cf. examples from Kelling (NMS-569B3E) and Suffolk (SF-050077). 14th century.
