An early Post Medieval (AD 1500- 1650) copper alloy dress hook. It was cast in one piece, with moulded relief and open work. A raised linear circle which may have had a beaded edge; on either side are two elongated angular knops, with a swag at the juncture of the plate and hook. A Post-Medieval copper alloy dress hook, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1650. The dress hook comprises of a central, downward pointing sub-pentagonal plate, broadly flat in cross section, with a rearward facing hook protruding from the base of the plate, the hook has been straightened. Description: The brooch is cast copper alloy with a linear design of incised parallel ridges, running across the width, of the remaining sub-triangular arm. Description: On the obverse it has a shield of arms combining Scotland and England overlaid on a rose, all within in a circular border. The reverse has the Roman numerals 'XXXIII' surmounted by a crown and possibly with a rose below. A copper-alloy Roman (2nd - 3rd century AD) seal box lid with inlaid champlevé enamel of Andrews L1 D7 type. Description: The lid is lozenge shaped with a small, rounded projection at three of the corners and a small, flat lug at the fourth, upper corner. The shank projects past the the bit and narrows to a blunted point. The key is patinated light green typical of patinated copper-alloy. The upper face is decorated with an engraved floral design composed of a single ten petaled flower with a long, curvilinear stem within an incised line, the smooth shoulder is appears to be undecorated.
