A late Early-Medieval to Medieval copper-alloy chape from the end of a scabbard, c.1000-1200 The chape is triangular in shape and made from one piece of copper-alloy folded in half leaving one open side and an opening at the top. Both sides of the chape have a simple open-work of three pierced circles. Due to wear the chape appears to be undecorated. The edges of the chape have been shaped into a series of angular projections rather than left as a straight edge. An incomplete complete copper-alloy sword or dagger scabbard chape of medieval date, c 12th to 13th century AD. It is cast in one piece with a transverse fold to produce a symmetrical front and back plate and a U-shaped profile. It is trapezoidal in outline, with the remnant of a rivet hole placed centrally on one side of base of the chape. Early post-Medieval (c.AD 1500-1650) cast copper alloy, one piece with moulded-relief on one surface, the other surface appears to be un decorated and is smooth, the aperture is well defined (width:11.45, length: 1.6mm). The hook has been lost at an historic break in the openwork collar. Early post-Medieval Class E, Type 2, shield shaped. An incomplete Early-Medieval to High Medieval (AD 1000-1150) copper-alloy zoomorphic buckle fragment. The buckle survives only as a fragment roughly roughly a third of its full size and is sub-triangular shaped with a rectangular cross-section. A cast Roman (AD 100-200) copper-alloy, ram's head terminal, for the handle of a patera type pan.
