An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of the dragonesque type, dating from AD 75 - 175. It fits into Mackreth's type DRAG 3.b1 which have enamelled decoration with a circular central motif and a pair of bars splaying out from each end of the circle. One brooch terminal or head survives, and is linked to the body at the chin. The head would also have been enamelled. The other terminal is missing and the break is worn and patinated. It has a missing hinged pin, a copper alloy axis bar supported in a tubular housing, but no integral head loop nor crest. A fragment of a very corroded copper alloy Roman brooch of the headstud type, dating from AD 75 - 200. It woul have had a hinged pin, but the tubular housing for the axis bar is damaged and incomplete, so no bar nor pin survives. There is a raised crest on the head above the stud. The wings curve outwards from the bow. The headstud is missing, leaving only a circular attachment hole through the bow. The lower bow tapers to a point and has corroded away. The broch has a light green patina. It is 25.4mm long, 16.8mm wide and 10.6mm thick. It weighs 7.58gm.

A copper alloy Roman trumpet derivative brooch dating from about AD 50 - 175. It looks like a trumpet brooch except it does not have a trumpet head. It had an integrally cast head loop, though this is now missing, and a collar below it. The head is flat and rectangular with rounded corners. It is a uniface circular disc, with a design in relief on one face, of the initials BI with a + before the B and dots flanking the I. It has a scallop shell motif on one face (Spencer's type I), and a border of pellets containing a square topped shield bearing a wide Latin cross on the other. Above the shield, on the neck of the ampulla is a large cross pattee in relief. The ampulla has sharp corners at the top of the shell shaped body, and an unusually long and narrow neck.
