A cast copper-alloy mount from a post-medieval candle snuffer, more accurately a wick trimmer. The mount is a long, narrow rectangle in plan with a trefoil shaped terminal at the short ends. The terminals of each trefoil are angled; one has been abraded following old damage. The trefoils are decorated with three blind drilled marks. The body of the mount, on the upper surface is divided into two sections by a transverse groove; a further transverse groove separates the terminals.
