A crude side scraper formed from a tertiary debitage flint flake of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date. The scraper is formed from a leaf-shaped flake with a notched void at the distal end: this is edged with cortex on the dorsal face and is probably a natural void. The ventral face shows conchoidal ripples and the bulb of percussion, alongside a small bulbar scar. The dorsal face has three main longitudinal removals in the same plane as the ventral, the central one being far wider. A long edge, the lefthand edge on the dorsal face, has been retouched creating a basic cutting/scr…

A flint horseshoe-shaped scraper of mid/dark-grey flint of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500 - 1500 BC). Made on a tertiary flake with no surviving cortex. At the proximal end is a small striking platform, partially removed by old damage. On the ventral face the bulb is shallow, and the ripples travel diagonally. The dorsal face has two main scars creating steep sides either side of a flat median ridge. Around half of the distal edge has been retouched, quite crudely and abruptly, creating a curved working edge, with finer retouch above. The surface of the scraper has s…

A flint end scraper of dark-grey flint of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500 - 1500 BC). Made on a secondary flake with cortex covering most of the dorsal face, with the exception of the proximal end. At the proximal end is a small striking platform, with a significant bulbar scar. On the ventral face the bulb is shallow, as are the ripples. As implied, the dorsal face has very few removals: these cluster around the proximal end and are quite abrupt, working around a natural flaw. It would appear, therefore, unusually, that the proximal end is here being used as a scrape…

A flint end scraper of light/dark-grey flint of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500 - 1500 BC). Made on a small tertiary flake with no cortex surviving. At the proximal end is a small striking platform, with a significant bulbar scar. On the ventral face the bulb is shallow, as are the ripples. The flake has an S-shaped profile. The dorsal face is notably smooth; this may have been due to natural removals. There is invasive flaking on a diagonal protrusion at the proximal end of the ventral face. It would appear, therefore, unusually, that the proximal end is here being u…
