A clipped post-medieval silver Irish sixpence of James I (AD 1603-1625), First coinage, initial mark bell, minted at Dublin, AD 1603-1604, Spink 6514. One edge of the coin has been bent up and the other down to create an S-shaped profile. Coins modified in this way are often referred to as 'love tokens'. The coin is very worn and may have been deliberately smoothed.
