Description: A post-medieval silver collar stud (possibly) formed of a front and back disc joined by a circular sectioned bar (Lewis Form 2). On the front disc is a raised design of a pair of hearts side by side with a crown above (Lewis Type 1). The raised design is surrounded by a stippled background within a raised circular line border. A late medieval lead Papal bulla of Pope Paul II (r. AD 1464-1471). Paul II was the only pope to have his matrices redesigned; his successor reverted to the usual design which is essentially preserved to this day. The head is faceted on six sides, echoing the shaft with which it appears seamless. The shaft has been truncated following old damage and bent round through 90 degrees. Dimensions: The pin is now 16.7mm long, with head 6.8mm in diameter. It weighs 1.44 grams. An irregular Roman silver-plate copper-alloy denarius copying Julia Soemias dating to the period AD 218-222 (Reece period 10). VENVS VICTRIX reverse type depciting Venus standing left holding patera in right hand and vertical sceptre in left. Mint uncertain. The VENVS VICTRIX type is not recorded for Julia Soemias, although it was for Julia Paula (RIC IV, pt 2, p. 46, no. 223). However, the Julia Paula coin has Venus holding a globe and sceptre. The type with patera and sceptre is more commonly found for Juno. Therefore, the forger has probably muddled his legends and types.

An Iron Age La Tène IBa type brooch dating to the 4th to 3rd centuries BC, incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. The brooch comprises a sprung head, a curved bow and foot with catch-plate. The brooch has been made in one piece. The head is formed from the top of the bow, which becomes thinner and circular in section forming a thick wire.
