A corroded cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of post-medieval date (c. AD 1500-1650), incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. The loops are of pointed oval form; they incurve towards the pin bar. The pin bar itself is narrowed and terminates in a small pointed knop at each end. A cast copper-alloy pin now independent of its frame, probably from a medieval annular buckle. It is solidly cast, with a cross-section in the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners. The oval loop is broken such that around just over half of it survives. There is a rectangular ridge at the junction of the loop and the shaft. The frame was formed of two conjoined ovals such that the sides incurve slightly; one of the loops has been lost due to old damage at its junction with the pin bar. The frame is shallowly bevelled externally on the upper surface; the lower surface is flat. The pin bar has a trapezoidal cross-section. It is extended at each end in a rounded knop. The pin is missing. The buckle frame has corroded to a variable red/brown colour with some patches of dark-green patina surviving in a few places.
