A worn and bent later 13th-century medieval Irish penny of Edward I, second coinage, Class Ib, struck at Waterford mint (AD 1279-1302; Spink 6254). This coin has suffered some jagged losses to its circumference. Due to the strength of striking the reverse cross can be seen as a shadow on the obverse.
