A fragment from a Roman cast copper-alloy developed T-shaped brooch dating to c. AD 75-150. The fragment consists of the abraded bow and foot with catch-plate on the reverse; the head and pin are both missing. The bow is flat with rounded edges. At its centre it expands into a flattened lozenge shape. This shape is decorated on the front with a moulded lozenge within a lozenge recess. Within the moulding is a further recess with traces of red enamel. The bow curves gradually in profile. The catch-plate is abraded at the foot. A copper-alloy double-looped buckle of post-medieval date (c. 17th century), incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. In plan, one loop is D-shaped and the other is trapezoidal. The upper surface of the frame is bevelled externally and the underside is flat. At the centre of the outside edge of the D-shaped loop is a double transverse ridge which would have acted as a pin rest. At each end of the pin bar is a triple moulding. A late Middle Bronze Age/early Late Bronze Age cast copper-alloy palstave (axehead) of unlooped type. The palstave is corroded and pitted. There is not much difference in width between septum and blade; the particular narrowness of the blade suggests an ancillary use as a chisel. There is just a stub of the stem of the handle surviving: enough to show that its cross-section was sub-circular with a diameter of c. 3.4mm. The knop begins with a double circular collar; the baluster part then flares out to a diameter of 8.2mm. Above the baluster are a further pair of collars.
