A fragment from a Roman cast copper-alloy developed T-shaped brooch dating to c. AD 75-150. The fragment consists of the abraded bow and foot with catch-plate on the reverse; the head and pin are both missing. The bow is flat with rounded edges. At its centre it expands into a flattened lozenge shape. This shape is decorated on the front with a moulded lozenge within a lozenge recess. Within the moulding is a further recess with traces of red enamel. The bow curves gradually in profile. The catch-plate is abraded at the foot. For similar brooches see Hattatt (2000, 303; refs. 318, 319).

A corroded, but complete shield-shaped cast copper-alloy harness pendant bearing a zoomorphic device: a peacock in his pride. The object is of the 'heater' shield shape, that is, with a flat top, and sides which curve steeply to a point. A cast copper-alloy belt stud or mount moulded in the form of a scallop shell of post-medieval date. The shell in semicircular and sits above a trefoil base. Five triangular grooves form the shell's ridges. On the back are two integral pointed lugs, both slightly off centre, and the lowermost truncated. The object has corroded to a red-brown colour with light-green corrosion product in patches, particularly on the back. A similar strap fitting has been recorded on this database, ref. CORN-88BC72.
