A square double-sided copper-alloy coin weight of post-medieval date. The weight is for a unite (20 shillings/laurel) of Charles I (1625-1632; Withers and Withers 1995, 12-13; ref. XXs e). The top left corner of the upper surface is counter stamped with a crowned 'C'. The stamp is typical of square coin weights of Charles I (Withers and Withers 1995, 67). Biggs (1992, 30) notes that square coin weights were succeeded by round ones in 1632. The upper surface of the weight has slightly smaller dimensions than the lower. A cast copper-alloy single-looped buckle of post-medieval date, incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. The buckle is square with an elaborate, expanded outer edge formed of an oval on ovoid knop. This latter is divided from the rest of the frame by a thin transverse ridge. Upper part of the bow and head of a Late Iron Age cast copper alloy birdlip type brooch. The lower part of the bow, pin, foot and catchplate are missing. It the top of the remaining section the bow is oval with a concave back. This probably formed the trumpet shaped head with a spring held in the concave section, although the attachment is lost. At the head is an abraded plate on the lower surface of which is a double semicircular pin lug. This latter has been perforated centrally to take an axis bar which was made of iron given the corrosion product around the lug.
