A rectangular object, probably a mount, cast in copper alloy of probable late early-medieval date (c. 9th/10th century AD). Broadly rectangular, it has slightly concave long sides. Both short ends are slightly ragged with irregular protrusions, it is unclear whether these are unfinished or old breaks. It is probable the object previously continued below the lower edge where there is the stub of a projection which is narrower than the existing piece.
