A fragment from a cast copper-alloy stirrup-strap mount of late early-medieval date (c. 11th century AD) which can be categorised as being of Williams's Class B, Type 1, Group 1. A cast copper-alloy stirrup-strap mount of late early-medieval date (c. 11th century AD), not longer fully complete having suffered some minor losses. It can be categorised as being of Williams's Class B, Type 2, Group 4 (Webley 2014, 354-355; fig. 7b/note 64). The mount is sub-rectangular, and D-shaped in cross-section. It has a squared off top with a central perforation; the rivet has ben lost but there is iron corrosion product adjacent to the hole on the front. A broken and now incomplete cast copper-alloy stirrup-strap mount of late early-medieval date (c. 11th century AD) which can be categorised as a Williams Class A, Type 5 mount (1997, 40-42). The object comprises a pentagonal base on the angled upper parts of which are two tendril-like shapes with scrolled terminals. These are broken just after converging at the upper apex of the base, and would have continued in a long apex extension that would have begun with a zoomorphic head and terminated in a loop; the apex extension has been lost below the head as a result of old damage.
