Incomplete fragment of a cast copper alloy unknown artefact, most probably the terminal of a bracelet or armlet of early medieval date, probably 8th - 12th century (750-1100 AD) being Anglo-Scandinavian in design. The terminal is best described as being zoomorphic in style. The fragment measures 56.1mm length, is a maximum of 15.9mm wide and a maximum 11.2mm thick. It weighs 19.83 grams. A gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377) dated to the pre-treaty period AD 1351-61. A more precise identification cannot be achieved due to the wear and condition of the coin. The external edge of the flan is feathered and the edge is folded. A pentangular shaped hole is present through the centre of the coin. The edges are slightly clipped. An uncertain object of uncertain date - most probably made in the medieval or post medieval period (1200-1800). In form the artefact is similar to a thimble being a domed sheet of lead which has subsequently been crushed in the soil. The artefact is crudely decorated with a series of opposing triangular cut out shapes positioned irregular around the lower edge. An incomplete cast copper alloy, single loop buckle cast with an integral plate, dating from the medieval period c. AD 1250 - 1400. Only the plate remains as the frame of the buckle is lost due to old damage. In form the buckle is very small and would originally have had an oval frame. The plate is broadly rectangular in plan and D shaped in cross ection. It is decorated with a series of three bosses seperated by double transverse ribs. A fragment from the lower bow and foot of a cast copper alloy brooch most probably of Roman date (AD50-350). The alloy of the metal is relatively unusual seeming to be heavily leaded creating a very grey coloured alloy. The form of the brooch comprises an angular bow which has transverse ribs terminating in a large moulded D shaped bead from which an oval shaped foot descends. The reverse of the foot is flat and abraded but seems originally to have a small vertical rib that formed a slight catch plate. The upper bow and head of the brooch is lost. An incomplete cast lead or lead alloy pilgrims ampulla broken into two non-conjoining parts dating from the medieval period; late 13th - late 15th century (1250-1500). The lower section of the flask and a small separate section of the neck of the vessel survive. The lower part has a rounded convex base that tapers slightly to form a waste at the mid point. An incomplete and distorted cast copper alloy Jews harp of probable post-Medieval date (c. 1500-c. 1800). The lyre-shaped instrument is near complete with only the iron twanger being lost. It is broadly symmetrical in plan; with a sub-circular head and tapering arms which are characteristically lozenge-shaped in cross-section. The metal is a mid green colour with an abraded surface patina commonly seen on finds of later post medieval date. All surfaces have a distinct filed surface. A copper alloy circular guinea coin weight dating from the Post Medieval period, being used after 1773 until about 1800. The obverse is heavily eroded and the surface design is lost - originally it would have contained the weight of a full guinea being 5 penny weights and 6 grains or 5 penny weights and 8 grains. Incomplete fragment of a two part carved stone mould for the production of a three dimensional lead alloy (pewter) miniature or toy of probable early post-medieval date (1500-1650). The mould is made from a relatively soft sedimentary rock, probably a calcareous mudstone (siltstone) dating from the Jurassic horizon. The mould has been shaped into an elongated sub-rectangular tablet, of which only the top 1/3 has been found.
