Incomplete fragment of a cast copper alloy trivet stand for a chafing dish of late medieval or post medieval date (1400-1700). The fragment comprises a small amount of the frame and an irregular sub-triangular shaped foot. The fragment is undecorated and irregular in both profile and plan. The foot is broadly sub-rectangular with taper edges and a wedge shaped slightly pointed foot. It is likely that there were a number (probably 3-4 of these feet evenly spaced around the edge of the trivet providing both stability and height for the chafing dish. The angle of the leg, when the foot is…

Fragment from a cast copper alloy chafing dish 'drop' handle of late Medieval or Post Medieval date (1400-1650). The fragment represents approximately half of the entire handle being irregular in plan and an irregular hexagonal shape in cross section. The upper section of the handle has a different cross section being broadly oval; this is because it would have fitted through an attachment lug which would in turn fit to the chafing dish. This lug would allow the handle to swing and pivot. The frame of the handle is angular in shape with several pointed (star like) projections. …

The patination of the metal would suggest a Medieval or later date. The function of the ring is varied (sacking ring, curtain ring etc) and…

Gold posy ring. A flat band, dented, the exterior with floral decoration incorporating two birds flanking a heart, with traces of white enamel for the birds, and white and green for the floral ornament. The inscription inside in lower case retains much of its original black enamel and reads: 'This and I until I dye', with partly legible unidentified maker mark, possibly SY. The motif and birds flanking a heart was popular in the 18th century, and in the absence of an identifiable maker's mark there is no evidence to date this ring pre-1708.

A bent and mis-shapen silver finger ring of very modern date (1871-1918 AD) probably relating to the First World War.
