A medieval copper alloy book clasp dating to AD1350-1450. The clasp is part of a two-piece book clasp with a hinged plate (a strap end) at one end and a loop at the other. At the attachment end the plate is missing. The surviving section consists of a domed section is a hole which has been drilled at a slight angle through the metal and appears more peripheral on the underside (presumably accidental). A post-medieval cast copper-alloy double loop asymmetrical buckle, dating to the period AD 1570-1700. The rounded loop has a pointed outer edge and the whole frame is faintly engraved with transverse lines. There is a lobed knop at either end of the strap bar. There is no pin. The buckle measures 20.6mm in length, 13.9mm in width, 1.5mm in thickness and weighs 1.04 grams.

A medieval cast copper alloy single loop oval buckle, dating to the period AD 1250-1400. It has an ornate outer edge and a narrowed and offset strap bar. The outer edge has two prominent lobed knops adjacent to eachother but between which a pin might have rested. The two knops are decorated with a criss-cross design and the rest of the outer edge is decorated with transverse grooves. The strap bar is rectangular in section and there is very slight wear in the centre, suggesting there might have been a pin. A complete post medieval lead cloth seal dating to AD 1500-1700. The seal is composed of two roughly circular discs linked together. Disc one has the initials DG stamped on it. Disc two which is somewhat smaller, has what might be a depiction of the Cross or a letter X and a letter L. This weighs 4.18grams, and the maximum diameter is 19.3mm. There is also a fragment of lead possibly associated with the seal which shares the same grid reference. This fragment appears to be two small pieces of lead bent together with no clear shape. This fragment weighs 2.62 grams.

A complete cast copper alloy Roman finger-ring key dating to c AD 250-300 (Guiraud type 5), in excellent condition. The hoop is D shaped and becomes flat (the bezel) at the point where it joins the bit so that it would have lain flat across the finger. The bit comprises a cyclindrical shank with a squared off S-shape extending from it at right angles. There are 4 small incisions along the opposing edge to the shank. The diameter of the hoop is 21.1mm, the length of bezel and bit is 19.3mm and its width 19.7mm. The finger ring key weighs 9.69 grams. Keys like this were probably used…

An incomplete medieval copper alloy purse bar Ward Perkins Type B1 dating to c. AD 1475-1525. The boss is shield shaped with short oval shaped side bars which end with a globular terminal. One side bar is complete and the suspension loop is in situ, but the other side bar terminal and loop is lost. The boss retains a circular section ovoid suspension loop that has three collars below the loop. It is now difficult to tell whether the suspension loop ever swivelled.
