An incomplete copper-alloy 'Birdlip' or 'Beaked Bow' type brooch of late Iron Age to early Roman date, c.50 BC - AD 50. The brooch comprises an ovate head from the reverse of which a corroded spring mechanism projects. The pin no longer remains.
The front of the head extends straight out into a circular sectioned upper bow, possibly with ridge and groove decoration though corrosion and wear makes this difficult to determine with certainty. The bow then bends at a 90-degree angle downwards to form a semi-circular lower bow with rounded terminal. The worn remains of projecting moulded decoration can be seen though again, largely obscured by corrosion and wear.
A curved catchplate extend from the reverse of the lower bow and appears complete though worn.
The metal has a dark brown patina with dark orange patches and is extremely worn. The brooch is 50.7mm long, 12.1mm wide, 11mm thick and weighs 14.5g.
Similar examples are illustrated in Hattatt (2007), p.295, fig.154 and are dated to the first century AD.

The axehead is wedge shaped with a sub-square socket, the mouth has been lost to old worn breaks. Internally the socket tapers and narrows to the cutting edge. Externally the axehead tapers and narrows along the body before expanding into the blade and cutting edge which flares towards each blade tip. Much of one surface is damaged, broken and worn. A D-shaped, ovate sectioned attachment loop is present to one side, below the mouth and casting flashes are present on both sides of the axehead including the loop. The surviving face appears to have faint traces of three worn short and narrow ribs.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The axehead is 83.3mm long, the remaining socket has an external diameter of 24mm x 27.2mm and is 3.5mm thick, the blade is 45.5mm wide. The axehead weighs 122g.
Three ribbed Yorkshire type axes are a well-known part of the Ewart Park metalwork assemblage of the British Late Bronze Age. A complete copper-alloy strap mounted terret, Lewis' Type 19 of Roman date, AD 43 - 200. The terret comprises a main ovate ring with integral rectangular loop. The main ring is bottom-heavy displaying wear to the upper edge.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The terret is 35.4mm long, 35mm wide, 8.9mm thick and weighs 25.1g.
Terret rings were used as rein guides on chariots or carts used during the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period. They were set in a line along the yoke and five terrets were usually used per chariot. This suggested function is supported by evidence of wear or fractures on many examples. The Stanwick / Melsonby hoard included a complete set of such horse trappings.
Based on depositional contexts of excavated examples Lewis (2015, p.114) concludes that such terrets are current in Britain from the mid-first century AD to the late first century AD. While they are relatively common finds there is no known evidence for their manufacture in Britain. It is possible though that such objects were made in Britain rather than imported (2015, p.112).

A complete copper-alloy thimble of medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1500. The thimble has a circular base with fairly parallel sides which curve towards the top where they form the crown, creating a dome. A series of irregular spiralling pits extend from the crown towards the base.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The thimble is 19.9mm in height, 19.8mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 7.2g.
Thimbles have been in common use in England from the 14th century onwards and Geoff Egan (2010, p.265) states that no medieval thimble indisputably dating from before the 14th century has been found in England. They were originally used to protect the finger used to push a needle through sewing material and were commonly used by dressmakers and tailors. From the circa 16th century onwards silver thimbles were regarded as an ideal gift for ladies and have become gifts and collector's items made of a variety of materials including base and precious metals, and china. The pits on the surface of thimbles were originally created by the technique of hand punching though, in the mid-18th century they were machine-made.

An incomplete copper-alloy ribbed bracelet of Late Hallstatt - Late Iron Age date, c. 650-100 BC. The bracelet comprises thirteen (13) conjoined pointed ovate knobs with transverse double banded ridges at the juncture between each knob. The section is an asymmetric ovate having a more distinct curve to the upper surface. Both terminals are broken and worn.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The bracelet is 60.4mm in diameter, 11.9mm wide, 7.3mm thick and weighs 43.1g.
A parallel from Roxby, South Humberside has been published by Kevin Leahy in which he notes the type being well known in the Arras culture of East Yorkshire and parallels are also found in the Hallstatt culture on the continent. An example from Castle Hill, Scarborough was dated by Challis and Harding to the second half of the seventh century BC (Hallstatt C2), supported by associated pottery findings. Leahy determines that this evidence leaves a broad date range for knobbed bracelets spanning "the whole of the British Iron Age from Hallstatt C to La Tene III".
