An incomplete copper-alloy harness fitting, probably of Post-Medieval date. The fitting consists of a Y-shaped body with its vertical arm folded back on itself through 180 degrees to form a sub-circular sectioned knobbed hook. The hooked end has been slightly displaced to one side probably by post-deposition damage. There is damage at the bifurcated ends probably around a point or points of attachment. A more complete example of this type of fitting can be seen at NCL-900575 from Birdforth in N.Yorkshire which shows a loop attached to the hooked end. The fitting is 22.85mm long,14.…
