An Early to Middle Neolithic knife knapped from a mid-brown coloured flint dating to circa 4000 - 3500 BC. The flint object is D shaped in plan and is knapped from a secondary flake. The dorsal face has been re-worked on the straight edge from the proximal to distal end. The retouch is long, stepped and semi-abrupt. The opposing long edge has cortex present covering 50% that would have enabled the flint to be handled and used as a knife. The other 50% of the long edge has a 'backed edge' with abrupt retouch. A complete copper alloy ring or loop which possibly functioned as a curtain fitting of the Late Medieval to Post Medieval period, dating to 15th - 17th centuries. The object is sub circular in plan and is bi-trapezoidal in cross section with rounded and smooth surfaces. The curtain fitting is a dark green in colour, with an abraded surface patina. Similar rings are illustrated in Margeson (1993, p. 82, Fig 47, no: 522-524). Margeson describes them as being suspension rings which were probably multi-functional, including curtain rings. A Post-Medieval copper alloy tall handle type seal matrix, probably dating to circa 17th century. The seal matrix has an oval face with an incised legend. The legend reads 'William' with the letters in reverse. The handle tapers from the face to a suspension loop. The piercing is sub circular and has a rounded pointed knop on the upper outer edge. A cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (AD1 - 1650), most probably later medieval (AD1150-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex. There is a central sub-circular perforation which measures 8.51mm in diameter. The perforation is irregular in shape possibly due to wear. One face of the whorl has a raised circumferential rib. Complete cast copper alloy 'vesica' shaped seal matrix of medieval date (1200-1400). The seal matrix is sub-oval (oval with pointed ends) in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. On the reverse face of the seal on the upper edge in alignment with the two pointed ends, is a small sub-oval perforated lug. This lug is set at an angle of 90° to the plain of the body of the seal. The jetton was struck in Nuremburg by Hans Krauwinkel, master from 10th December 1608 to 4th September 1612 and is of the 1589 series of Franco-allegorical jettons.
