An incomplete late Roman/ Early-Medieval (AD 400-600) penannular brooch of Fowler's Type D and Booth's type D2. The frame is sub-circular, and oval in cross-section. The pin is missing. The brooch is made from a single cylindrical piece of copper alloy that has been bent into a circle, with the outer edges bent back to form terminals lying flat against the frame. The terminals each have a pair of incurved facets on their top edges and a groove across each end, forming what looks like a very stylised animal head (Booth, 2014, 148: type D2). A fragment of a Post Medieval ceramic vessel, probably a drinking cup dating to the 17th to 18th centuries. The fragment is a base sherd from a black glaze ware vessel. The sherd is irregular in shape, comprising of a flat base with a curved edge and a small section of the vessel wall. It is glazed inside and out with a black glaze, including the underside. The fabric is an orange red in colour with small white coloured inclusions. The vessel was probably a tyg (a multi-handled mug) or drinking cup. The vessel would have been made on a wheel. Neolithic (4000 - 2100BC) debitage in the form of a tertiary flake. The dorsal surface has been worked in opposing directions. One edge has evidence it has been ground rather than knapped to create a serrated cutting edge. The opposing long edge on the ventral face has short, sub-parallel low angle retouch. The ventral face has conchoidal ripples and a bulb of percussion and two flaking scars. The flint is a dark grey colour with light grey inclusions. The flint measures 25.88mm long, x 13.44mm wide x 4.75mm thick, weighing 2.1g.
