A cast Iron-age potin of the Kent Region / Cantiaci, dating to the period c.150-100 BC, Thurrock MA (Kentish Primary Series) type. Obverse: Helmeted head of Apollo left. Reverse: Stylised butting bull right and traces of MA above. There is an oval shaped hole to one side of the flan that although demonstrating very worn edges appears to be a piercing rather than a casting flaw. As ABC, p.33 No 120; VA 1406.

A post medieval copper-alloy 4.2 gram bi-face round coin weight issued during the reign of James I dating to c.1603-25. Round in form being 16.9mm in diameter and thickness 2.5mm. Obverse: crowned bust of James I facing right with inscription I R M BRITAN Reverse: a large crown with XI / S in two lines beneath. Appears to show signs of fire / heat damage to parts of obverse face. Used to weigh the gold double crown / half unite coin.

A very slender medieval cast copper-alloy rotary key probably dating to c.1150 - 1400. The key has a circular bow with a central circular perforation. The shank is oval in cross-section and has a moulded collar adjacent to the bow and a hollowed tip. The bit has two vestigial clefts. Even light green patina. Length: 37.5mm; width: 11.0mm; thickness: 4.0mm; weight: 3.5g. A number of very similar rotary keys are shown in Egan's (111-119 ) From the size of the key and the presence of a hollow shank it is likely that the key would have been used to lock a casket rather than a door. A fragment of a cast and engraved medieval lead seal matrix probably dating to c.1200-1350. Approximately one quarter of the seal remains. It would have been round in form and flat, The central motif would have been a scribed star with floral arms in the angles. The motif is separated from the inscription with a single scribed line. The partial inscription appears to read S'CECI [__]. Possibly Cecil. The reverse is plain. Estimated diameter of the complete seal 35mm, Remaining measurements: 23.2mm long, 17.7mm wide thickness 1.8mm and weight of fragment 3.7g.

A medieval cast copper-alloy single loop buckle dating to c.1250-1500. The frame has a D-shaped loop with an enlarged outer edge that is also slightly pointed. The sides are curved and the strap bar is very narrow and slightly offset. Length 21.5mm, width 16.4mm, thickness 1.6mm and weight 1.2g. Similar buckles can be seen in R Whitehead - Buckles 1250-1800, page 18.
