Cast lead vessel repair (pot mend). It is roughly oval in plan and H-shaped in section with two irregularly shaped outer sides, one larger than the other. In the groove created between the outer sides there are fragment of the original pot. The pottery has a bright orange fabric. The whole object measures 48.0mm long, 25.4mm wide and 12.4mm thick. It weighs 70.5g. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken pottery. The fabric appears similar to Medieval cooking pots although it is too fragmentary to be completely certain.

Post medieval composite, two part circular button with central pimple, probably made of tombac (copper-zinc alloy). The front is plain and slightly domed apart from the pimple and a border of two rows of alternative spaced semi-circles filled with diagonal hatchings. The back is flat with a possible central attachment. The button is probably a two piece button of the late 17th - 18th centurys. It is 27.9mm in diameter, 13.7mm thick and weighs 16.56g. Post Medieval glass bottle fragment comprising of a body sherd with seal attached. The seal is circular with a rounded edge. Part of the edge is broken; c. 5% of the seal is now missing. The break is old and worn. The front of the seal is stamped with a circular border made of repeating annulets with the legend 'I Wilkins' and a cross design underneath. The body sherd is curved in profile, broadly rectangular in plan, extending to the right of the seal. The glass is green and typical of the Post Medieval period. Fragment of a Medieval (12th to 13th century) jug handle and one other vessel sherds in a similar fabric. Grey to mid buff fabric with greensand chert, coarse sand and limestone temper. The limestone is c.10% of the fabric and large, the largest piece being 5.6mm across but most is smaller than 3.6mm. The coarse sand is abundant, up to 25% of the fabric. Greenstone chert is an occasional inclusion (less than 5%) up to 2.5mm across. Post medieval lead alloy cloth seal. Fragment of a two or four part seal consisting of the central plug of lead, circular in section with the front disk and a fragment of the back disc attached. The front is stamped with the portcullis with a B underneath, surrounded by a legend, now illegible. It measures 18.1mm in diameter and 4.6mm thick. It weighs 4.82g. The portcullis was "the main design for alnage seals in the late Tudor period... and continued in use into the early seventeenth century" (Egan 1995:9). A fragment of a broken polished stone adze originally thought to be of Neolithic date, now thought to be a modern, Ethnographic, example. The fragment comprises of part of the blade end of the adze. It is now 'D' shaped in plan with a straight break along the width of the head and a convex curved cutting edge. Complete, copper alloy purse bar dating from the late 15th to early 16th centuries. It is comprised of two separate pieces. The largest piece is a horizontal circular sectioned bar with large globular and circular knops on each end. The knops have two incised lines running horizontally around the circumfrence with a raised ridge in between. The end is marked with a transverse 'V' shaped groove. Medieval copper alloy ring seal dating to the 15th century AD, consisting of a broadly circular band and central bezel. The band is 'D'-shaped section, with a flat inner and curved outer edge. The band expands to meet the bezel which is oval in plan. The oval bezel is decorated with an incised design of an ovoid frame which containing a letter R with a simple crown above and small lines or possible leaves around the sides of the R. Cast copper alloy weight for a half Ryal (Rose Noble) or a Half Noble. The weight is circular and flat with a raised design on one side only. The design is of a ship with a rose on the side of the ship. It is 18.1mm in diameter, 4.6mm thick and weighs 6.55 grams. The centre of the weight has damage to both sides indicating possible re-use, the purpose of which is unknown. Ryals were only issued 1464-1470 AD although they circulated for longer; however later weights tend to be square so this example probably dates to 1464-1600 AD.
