An incomplete copper-alloy La Tene brooch of late Iron Age / early Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The brooch is formed from a single piece of metal. The bow is rectangular in section, tapering at the head to a narrower integral spring with only part of one turn remaining. The catchplate is formed by the foot of the bow being hammered at a 90 degree angle to create a flat sub-triangular plate which has been damaged. The object is in fair condition, is 50mm long, 3mm wide, 15mm thick and weighs 3.31g.
